County Academy Seeking Host Families

County are seeking host families who can provide accommodation for Academy players aged 16-18 years.

The ideal host family provision will be able to offer our young players a stable, safe and comfortable family environment. We believe our players perform better on the pitch when they are settled and content at home.

At Stockport County, we pride ourselves on a nurturing environment and we want our players to fulfil their potential both on and off the pitch. The ideal host family will:

  • Be located within a 5-mile radius of our training ground facility (SK6 1QX) or within 5 miles of our Home Ground (SK3 9DD); You should offer good quality accommodation, preferably in a family environment.
  • Provide provision of a daily evening meal and occasional lunches, access to laundry facilities and WiFi.
  • Be required to offer full and part time accommodation over 12 months of the year to reflect the football season.
  • Have the willingness to accommodate players on a short-term basis throughout the season, which is also desirable.

If you think you are the kind of family who can work with us to play a key role in the development of our young players, then we would like to hear from you. You will be subject to a full enhanced DBS check, references and must be committed to completing Safeguarding Training.

Hosting a player during their career at County can be very rewarding, fun and educational for your own children and provides a valuable extra income for your family. To arrange an informal discussion about being a host family, the application process and rates of remuneration, please contact our Head of Safeguarding and Player Care Adam Jones via [email protected].
