With only THREE more sleeps now until Christmas, our #CountyChristmas Countdown today goes back to earlier this season, as Frank Mulhern produced the goal of 2019 away at Dover.
In what was looking to be a tense contest at the Crabble Stadium, Mulhern produced a moment of sheer genius to give the Hatters the lead, touching the ball into the air from just over the half-way line before unleashing a stunning half-volley over the ‘keeper and into the net.
It was a goal that only Frank Mulhern would attempt, let alone score – and even more crucially it earned County just their second away win of the season.
You could see how much it meant to Frank, who ran the whole length of the pitch (well, half of it…) to celebrate with the travelling County faithful. The goal came as early as October, but already looks a certainty for Goal of the Season – the award Frank also picked up last season!
