The County Community Trust were delighted to be able to offer two Stockport families the opportunity to attend our recent home fixture against Tranmere Rovers, as part of the EFL Together Supporting Communities initiative.
The aim of the initiative, which is supported by EFL partner, Lifebuoy, is to support fans and communities from the 72 EFL clubs during the cost-of-living crisis by donating tickets to EFL fixtures.
County Community Trust used the opportunity to invite two families from St. Mary’s RC Primary School in Heaton Norris to attend the Tranmere Rovers fixture.
Mrs Bowden – St. Mary’s RC Primary School Headteacher said “Thanks to Stockport County for the tickets. It meant such a lot to our families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to go to the game. They said it was a “thriller” and was a brilliant day out”.
Family 1 Feedback – “It was great, and the kids loved it. The players and the atmosphere were great. It was lovely to see the smiles on the children’s faces as due to a family bereavement, we were unable to buy tickets for the match originally. We were so happy and grateful for the tickets. It was brilliant to be there for the sell-out, to see so many goals and a dramatic late save from the goalkeeper and to see County win 3-2. We also loved the meat and potato pies and the hot dogs”.
Family 2 Feedback – “We wouldn’t have been able to do this as a family because of the cost and it meant so much to my youngest. He was so happy and excited. We were singing and cheering most of the time. The atmosphere was fantastic, A big thank you to Stockport County for this brilliant opportunity. We had a great and fantastic time.”
