The first-team and reserve team may not have been in match action this weekend, but it’s still been a busy week for our County Ladies team as we bring you another weekly update from life at Stockport Sports Village.
Reserve team parade Trophy
As mentioned in one of our previous updates, our Reserve team made Club history a few weeks ago when they beat Keynsham Town Ladies 1-0 to win the FA Women’s National League Reserve Plate. It was the first National cup final the Club had ever been involved in, and the girls were given the opportunity to share their success with the County faithful during half-time in the men’s game against Southend United on Saturday.
The team, alongside manager Rosie Emerson, were given an amazing reception from the Edgeley Park crowd as they paraded their trophy around the pitch at the break, and also received fantastic feedback on social media after the game. Congratulations, girls!
Development sides wrap up the season with a big win:
Our Development side ended their Cheshire Women’s and Youth Football League, Championship Division East campaign on a high at the weekend with a stunning 11-0 against Altrincham and Hale Ladies FC.
An astonishing four goal display from Amelia Holland (pictured) helped County on their way, whilst strikes from Poppie Corbishley (2), Talia Morrison (2), Maisy Duncan (2) and a worldie from Abi Bellas saw them finish the season in style. They currently sit top of the table and still in with a chance of finishing as champions, but second-place Macclesfield still have two games left to play.
Elsewhere, our U16s side also completed their season at the weekend, having already wrapped up the South Manchester Girl’s League title. The side continued the incredible form they have shown all season with an 8-3 win against Golborne Girls, to finish 12 points clear of nearest challengers Cheadle & Gatley having won 14 of their 16 games.
