County represented in End of Season Awards

Dave Challinor has been named as the National League Manager of the Year for 2021/22 after guiding County to the National League title, and with it promotion back to the Football League.

The gaffer’s impact since taking over in November after leaving Hartlepool has been staggering, taking us from tenth to top after winning 20 of his first 23 league games in charge before securing the title with a final day win against Halifax at Edgeley Park.

It’s the second successive promotion out of the National League for Challinor after taking Hartlepool up in the play-offs last year, and he has been rewarded for his incredible success by being named as the National League’s top boss at the end of season awards.

County have also been represented at both ends in the National League Team of the Year, with Ash Palmer and Paddy Madden both making the cut.

Ash mad 42 appearances in all competitions at the heart of our title winning defence, playing a key role in a team that kept more clean sheets than any other National League side over the season.

At the other end, County Player of the Year Paddy Madden enjoyed an exceptional season in front of goal, scoring 23 goals in the National League to help fire us to the title. Only Paul Mullin and Kabongo Tshimanga scored more all season.
