Football Education Hosts Careers Week

Our Football Education recently hosted a ‘Careers Week’ at Stockport Sports Village, providing students with the opportunity to explore potential paths available upon completing the course.

The students were visited by FiveZero, who offered an insight into Football Scholarships in America, and have provided our Football Education alumni with the opportunity to play and coach abroad. The RAF and the Army also came in to talk to the students, for those who want to take a separate path to Football after graduating the course.

A number of students helped the County Community Trust coach and officiate a Girls Football Festival. Alumni of the programme have moved onto University, or gained Scholarships in sports coaching, with some moving into full-time employment with the Community Trust.

Routes, who provide a CV Building service, visited Stockport Sports Village to deliver a workshop to our Player Pathway and Sports Career Pathway students. This gave the students valuable insight into what relevant details to include, and correct structure future employers will look for in a CV.

Looking to become more employable upon leaving the course, a number of Player Pathway and Sports Career Pathway students gained qualifications in areas such as ‘Introduction to Talent Identification in Football’, ‘Disability Football Introduction’ and ‘Introduction to Futsal’. These qualifications allow the students to explore different areas of the industry, gaining vital knowledge at an early age.
