Girls Academy launches in September
From September 2022, the expansion of our Academy will begin to include a girl’s squad. This will be the same full-time 2-year course consisting of a football and education programme that the boys are currently a part of. This is available to girls who are currently in Year 11 or 12 to join us in September 2022. It would also not affect their participation with our association Stockport County Ladies should they already/choose to play for them in addition.
The course that is provided is a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport Development & Coaching which will cover a variety of different units. As well as this, the course, once completed, will provide the students with the UCAS points to move onto university should they wish too. Our coaches and course tutors are all UEFA A & B Licensed. The Academy also provides a gym, a hive gym, full time academy physios, a welfare & attendance officer, social media coverage and much more. The girls will also be able to participate in competitive women’s fixtures and competitions.
There will be a taster session on Monday 11th April at Stockport Sports Village, 3.00pm–4.30pm, where there will be a presentation in our education suite followed by a football training session with our UEFA qualified coaches/tutors.
