In the Classroom

Our students have been working further towards their Level 3 BTEC in Sport this term and have been honing their knowledge of the industry even further. The students have been led by a group of tutors who have vast knowledge in the industry.

The first-year students have been studying towards the module Careers in the Sport and Active Leisure Industry, which has set them up for careers not only in Football, but in the sports industry. Should the students wish to pursue a career in the industry upon ending the course, this unit will act as a steppingstone to achieving that.

The second unit that our first-year students have been studying is Anatomy and Physiology. A fundamental aspect of developing a career in sport is an in-depth understanding of the human anatomy, which can help avoid future injury, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The second-year students have been studying towards Sports Coaching and Development, which opens an avenue for students after they leave the course, should they wish to stay in sport. This, matched with our tutors’ vast experience in both coaching and teaching, has helped the students developed this aspect of their learning greatly.

Another unit that our second-year students will be covering is a Research Project in Sport. The students have chosen a case study in sport to analyse and breakdown, and present towards the end of term. This will demonstrate an understanding of the course.

Alongside their primary units, the second-year students have been finalising their UCAS applications. This must be completed if the students wish to progress onto further education, so to finalise these applications has been a priority.
