The students have ended the academic year on a high, as they look to work further towards their Level 3 BTEC in Sport. With the help of our expert tutors, our second-year students are heading into the next chapter of their careers, while our first years prepare to head into their second year, looking to hit the ground running.
Our first-year students have taken a dive into the world of coaching, as they have started their ‘Developing Coaching Skills’ module. This allows the students to take an alternative path into the sports industry, should they not wish to pursue the playing route. Alongside the designated coaches for our Football Education, our education staff also have experience in the coaching field, giving the students plenty of resources to learn from.
Another module that the first-years have been working towards is ‘Self Employment in Sport’. A self-employed route is common in sport and gives our students another pathway into the industry. This gives the students an understanding of how a self-employed career in sport looks and sets them up for that path in the future if that is what they wish to pursue.
‘Organising Events in Sports’ was the final module our second years undertook. The ability to organise sports events is crucial when developing a career in the industry, whether that’s playing, coaching or within any industry in sports.
The second-year students have also finalised the ‘Applied Coaching’ module, which focuses primarily on the fundamentals of Sports Coaching, how to improve as a player and avoid injury. Similar to what the first-year students have begun exploring, this sets up those leaving in the summer for a career in the dugout.
Of those that completed and submitted their UCAS applications, 100% were accepted into their first-choice university. This was a primary focus throughout the previous term, as a UCAS application is required to progress onto further education.
