County defender Jordan Downing is joining Clitheroe FC on a month’s loan.
The 20-year-old six-foot-four centre half has made ten appearances for County’s first team since turning pro in 2018.
Jordan signed a new one-year deal to remain at Edgeley Park last May, but has been unable to establish himself as a regular in the squad this season.
Hatters boss Jim Gannon feels that a month with Clitheroe will give the former Under-19’s captain the match sharpness needed to challenge for a place in the 16 later in the campaign.
Jordan is available to make his debut for the Blues away to City of Liverpool tomorrow afternoon.
Clitheroe, managed by former County assistant and caretaker boss Phil Brown, are currently mid-table in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
Everyone at Edgeley Park wishes Jordan well for the month ahead.
