Adam Jones updates us on the Junior Academy
As the Junior Academy goes from strength to strength, I was delighted that the U11s won the JPL Nationals, so well done to them and coach Jordan Robinson. The U12s managed to get to the final but unfortunately lost out in the final, I am sure a cup final win is only around the corner for Joe Lally.
We continue to go into Academies (Everton FC, Wolves FC) and really compete with their elite groups. With the success we are having it is only natural players are being recognised and being asked to go on trial in these clubs, however parents are seeing the project we are building here and are more than happy to stay.
I can probably speak for every player within the academy. We are just hoping Stockport County 1st team can be successful and get promoted and we can then hopefully take that next step and become a CAT3 Academy. There is lots of hard work still to do to achieve this, but rest assured everybody is working hard on it.
