Ladies preparing for cup final

Our Ladies team will be looking to cap off a brilliant season for Stockport County Football Club on Wednesday night, as they take on Runcorn Linnets in the final of the Cheshire FA Women’s Cup Final.

Steve O’Hara’s side booked their place in the showpiece final for the third consecutive season after beating Crewe Alexandra in the semi-finals last month. Having been beaten on penalties by Tranmere Rovers on each of the previous two occasions, O’Hara will be hoping it’s third time lucky this time around.

The game is set to be played at Nantwich Town’s Swansway Stadium, in a 7.30pm kick-off on Wednesday 1st May. Tickets for the game will be available to buy on the gate on the night, and are priced at £3 for adults and £2 for Under 16s and Over 65s.

We’d love for as many supporters as possible to come down and join the team on the night, to help them try and become Champions of Cheshire!

Ahead of the game, manager Steve O’Hara said:

“This is a game we’ve been looking forward to now for some time. All our efforts are going into winning the cup this time round. We have left nothing to chance, and feel we are in a great place to go and win the game.

“The girls know how important this cup is to the club and we want to thank the fantastic supporters we’ve had this season by hopefully lifting the Cheshire Cup.”
