Lewis Smith to referee Bradford trip

Referee Lewis Smith has been selected to take charge of Friday night’s League Two fixture between County and Bradford City at the University of Bradford Stadium.

It will be Smith’s second time refereeing County this season, having also overseen our Carabao Cup first round tie away at Sheffield Wednesday. It will also be his second time refereeing Bradford, having took charge of their 3-0 defeat away at Morecambe back in August.

Promoted to the EFL permanently over the Summer, Smith took charge of 36 first-team games in all competitions last season from the Championship down to the National League. In that time, he issued 120 yellow cards, two red cards and awarded seven penalties.

Across 26 games so far this campaign, the official has so far shown 106 yellows, five reds and given four penalty kicks. His last game came in League Two on Boxing Day, as he took charge of Notts County’s 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers – in which he awarded a penalty to Doncaster in the first half.

The Assistant Referees in Yorkshire will be Abbas Khan and Danny Guest, whilst David Richardson will be the Fourth Official.
