Louie Barry’s fine start to the season continued at the weekend with another goal, and the forward has now received more recognition after being voted by supporters as August’s Stockport County Player of the Month.
The Villa loanee has had a fine start to the 2024/25 campaign, scoring three times in four appearances in August to help County to the top of League One.
It’s the quality of goals that has really caught the eye, scoring a jaw-dropping 40-yard lob four minutes in to our opening day game against Cambridge United at Edgeley Park, before following that up with a solo strike at Blackpool and a stunning volley at home to Bristol Rovers.
That fine form has seen him win this month’s Player of the Month vote, beating off close competition from fellow forward, Kyle Wootton. It’s already the second award that Louie has picked up this season, following on from being named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month last week.
That electric form has already continued into September with further stunning strikes against Accrington Stanley and Crawley Town, taking his tally to five goals from six appearances this season.
