Referee Scott Jackson is set to take charge of Tuesday night’s Bristol Street Motors Trophy Group Stage tie between County and Accrington Stanley at the Wham Stadium.
This will be Jackson’s first time refereeing County since our 2021/22 title-winning campaign, when he oversaw our defeat at home to Yeovil Town as well as wins home and away against Wealdstone in the National League.
He last officiated a game involving Accrington in this same competition last season, taking charge of their 1-0 group stage win at home to Carlisle United.
Last season was Jackson’s first as a full-time referee in the Football League, overseeing 26 games across all competitions. In that time, he issued 98 yellow cards, one red card and awarded five penalty kicks.
The official has taken charge of five games already this campaign across four different competitions, showing 15 yellows and one red so far, whilst he has yet to award a penalty kick. His most recent game came in League Two on Saturday 24th August, overseeing Fleetwood Town’s 0-0 draw with Gillingham.
The Assistant Referees on Tuesday night will be Danny Jarvis and Samuel Clayton, whilst Karl Buckley will be the Fourth Official.
