Match Officials Confirmed | Accrington Stanley (H)

Referee Simon Mather has been selected to take charge of Saturday’s homecoming game at Edgeley Park, as League Two Champions Stockport County take on Accrington Stanley at Edgeley Park.

Mather has refereed County on ten previous occasions, first doing so in a 3-2 win away at Altrincham in the National League North, back in September 2016. His most recent game involving the Hatters came in September 2022, overseeing our 3-0 win over Sutton United at Edgeley Park.

The official has refereed Accrington Stanley twice already this season, overseeing their 1-0 win over MK Dons and a 1-1 draw away at Barrow AFC.

An EFL referee since 2021, Mather took charge of 34 games across all competitions last season, including the League Two Play-Off Semi-Final between Carlisle United and Bradford City. In that time, he issued 140 yellow cards, six red cards and seven penalties.

Across the 34 games he has overseen so far this campaign, he has issued 173 yellow cards, ten red cards and pointed to the penalty spot five times. His last game came in League Two last Saturday, taking charge of Crewe Alexandra’s 3-0 defeat at home to Grimsby Town.

The Assistant Referees on Saturday will be Kevin Mulraine and Danny Gratton, whilst Emmanuel Edet will be the Fourth Official.
