Referee Ben Speedie has been confirmed as the man in the middle for Tuesday night’s League Two fixture against Carlisle United at Edgeley Park.
Speedie last refereed County back in November 2019, overseeing a 4-1 home defeat to Solihull Moors in the National League. He was promoted to the EFL as a referee at the end of that season and took charge of 33 games during the 2021/22 campaign, issuing 90 yellow cards and four reds.
So far this season he overseen twelve games in League One (6), League Two (3), the Carabao Cup (1) and Papa John’s Trophy (2), showing 50 yellow cards and three reds.
He will be assisted on the day by Ian Smedley and Mark Cunliffe, whilst the fourth official at Edgeley Park will be Aaron Jackson.
