Referee Marc Edwards has been selected to take charge of Saturday’s League Two fixture between County and Crawley Town in League Two.
The official refereed County once over the course of last season, taking charge for our Emirates FA Cup First Round victory over Swindon Town at Edgeley Park. He last oversaw a game involving Crawley in March 2022, during the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat away at Salford City in League Two.
An EFL referee since 2019, Edwards took charge of 28 games in all competitions last season, the majority in League Two, during which time he issued 87 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded seven penalties.
He has taken charge of three games across League One and League Two so far this campaign, showing 14 yellows, no reds and awarding no spot kicks. His last game saw him oversee Blackpool’s 0-0 draw with Leyton Orient in League One.
The assistant referees at Edgeley Park will be Karl Buckley and Lisa Rashid, whilst Oliver Bickle will be the Fourth Official.
