Match officials confirmed for cup tie

Paul Howard has been selected as the match referee for Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie between County and Aldershot Town at the EBB Stadium.

The official refereed County on one occasion last season, taking charge of our 1-1 draw at home to Mansfield Town last March. It will be his first time refereeing Aldershot Town since January 2020, when he oversaw their 3-1 win over Eastleigh in the National League.

Howard, an EFL referee since 2020, took charge of 24 games in all competitions last season, the majority in League Two. During that time, he issued 58 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded six penalties.

Across the 17 games he has officiated so far this season, the official has shown 57 yellow cards, one red card and given one penalty. His last game came in League One on Tuesday night, as he took charge of Port Vale’s 1-0 defeat at home to Derby County.

The Assistant Referees on Sunday will be Stephen Finch and Gareth Viccars, whilst Steven Hughes will be the Fourth Official.
