The match officials for tonight’s League Two fixture away at Tranmere Rovers have now been confirmed, with the experienced Robert Madden selected to referee the game.
Madden was due to take charge of the game originally in September before it was rearranged, due to the sad passing of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Scot has spent the majority of his career refereeing north of the border in the SPL before moving into the English leagues over the Summer. He has also previously taken charge of several Champions League and Europa League fixtures, as well as officiating World Cup Qualifiers in the past.
He has taken charge of twelve games so far in his first taste of English football, three in League Two, six in League One, two in the Carabao Cup and one in the Papa John’s Trophy. In that time he has shown 33 yellow cards and three reds.
This will be his first time refereeing either side. He will be assisted on the day by Richard Woodward and Paul Newhouse, whilst the fourth official on Friday will be Andrew Kitchen.
