The match officials for Tuesday night’s League Two fixture between Gillingham and County have now been confirmed, with referee Lee Swabey set to take charge of the game at Priestfield.
It will be just the second time that Swabey has taken charge of a game involving County, first doing so last season in our 2-2 draw away at Charlton Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup Second Round. He last refereed Gillingham earlier this season, overseeing their 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon in League Two last November.
The official took charge of 33 games in all competitions last season, during which time he issued 128 yellow cards, five red cards and awarded a total of 16 penalties.
Across the 19 games he has overseen so far this campaign, Swabey has so far shown 84 yellows, four reds and pointed to the penalty spot on four occasions. His last game came in League One at the weekend, as he refereed Wigan Athletic’s 1-0 win away at Shrewsbury Town.
The Assistant Referees on Tuesday night will be Kevin Howick and Andrew Hickman, whilst Paul Kelly will be the Fourth Official.
