The match officials for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture between County and Newport County have been confirmed, with referee Tom Reeves selected as the man in the middle at Edgeley Park.
The official has refereed County five times previously, first doing so in the National League in August 2019, overseeing our 2-0 win over Chesterfield. His most recent County fixture came earlier this season, in charge during our 3-1 win away at Accrington Stanley back in September. He last refereed Newport County back in October, a 2-0 win for the Exiles away at Gillingham.
Reeves took charge of 36 first-team fixtures in all competitions last season, the majority of which came in League One and League Two. During that time, he issued a total of 110 yellow cards, four red cards and awarded ten penalties.
Across the 28 games he has overseen so far this season, the official has shown 90 yellows, four reds and pointed to the penalty spot on eight occasions. His last game came in League Two last weekend, refereeing Grimsby Town’s 1-0 win over relegation rivals Forest Green Rovers at Blundell Park.
The Assistant Referees on Saturday will be Steve Durnall and Thomas Harty, whilst Aaron Jackson will be the Fourth Official at Edgeley Park.
