Player of the Term: Sam Harries

Sam Harries was named our Player of the Term for Autumn, after numerous excellent displays. He has shown promising development on the pitch and exudes real confidence when playing. The second year student plays in midfield and has been controlling the tempo of multiple games, picking up goals and assists on a consistent basis. We caught up with Sam to get his thoughts:

Congratulations Sam, how does it feel to win Player of the Term?

It feels good to be recognised for my hard work, and rewarded for playing well. It feels great for being acknowledged for contributing to the team, which is what I always want to do on the pitch, so I’ll try and keep it up.

What are you hoping to accomplish in the next term?

I’m hoping to score more goals and get more assists and improve my game overall, so I can develop further as a footballer. I just want to contribute more to my team and keep winning games because that’s why we play.

What was your best performance of the term?

We won 9-0 against FC United of Manchester earlier in the term. I got two goals and two assists and contributed to the team performance, so I was pleased with that and I think it was our best display. We work really well together as a team so hopefully we’ll see a few more performances like that after Christmas.

How are you enjoying life at County?

I’m enjoying it. We have loads of games at the moment and I’m really loving life here, so I’m looking forward to the next term. I just want to keep developing as a footballer and improving my game, and keep winning of course.
