We are pleased to announce that one of County’s all-time greatest midfielders, Tom Bennett, will be joining us as our special guest on hospitality at Edgeley Park, for the game against Woking on Saturday 19th February.
Tom joined the Club from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1995, going on to make 147 appearances in the famous blue and white over an incredibly successful five year spell.
His partnership alongside Chris Marsden in midfield is often heralded as County’s greatest ever in the middle of the park, and Tom was a key part of the side that won promotion to the First Division in 1996/97, and reached the semi-finals of the League Cup under Dave Jones.
Tom now returns to Edgeley Park against Woking, and will be taking part in a special Q&A with Club President Steve Bellis before the game for those on hospitality, in our newly refurbished 1883 lounge.
Hospitality for this game will also include a bar, live entertainment, a three course buffet and the chance to hear from Tom – all for just £70 per person!
Don’t miss out, book your place today for the chance to hear from the man himself! Non-season ticket holders are now able to book their place in hospitality online, by choosing the hospitality option after selecting your seat. Any season-ticket holders wishing to upgrade their ticket to hospitality for this game can do so by emailing [email protected].
Luke Bennett:
Tom’s appearance at Edgeley Park also gives us the opportunity to continue the memory of Tom’s son, Luke Bennett, who tragically lost his life in an accident last year at the age of just 17.
Like his father, Luke was an extremely talented footballer who played for the Burnley Academy and more recently the AFC Fylde Academy. He was a very popular young man due to his kindness and his ability to light up a room with his bubbly personality.
As a tribute to Luke, his family have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to continue the provision of wellbeing support at Holy Cross School. We would warmly welcome any supporter who can, to contribute to this extremely worthwhile cause in memory of Luke.
