The match officials for this weekend’s fixture against AFC Wimbledon have now been confirmed, with referee Sunny Gill appointed as the man in the middle for this game.
Gill made history earlier this season, after becoming the first South-Asian referee to take charge of a game in the Football League since his Dad, Jarnail, in 2010, following his promotion from the National League in July.
He has refereed three games in League Two so far this season, issuing 13 yellow cards and no red cards. During the 2021/22 season he took charge of 16 games in league and cup, showing 64 yellows and one red.
Despite officiating in the National League for the last two seasons, this will be his first time refereeing either side.
His assistants on the day will be Graeme Fyvie and Kevin Mulraine, whilst the Fourth Official on Saturday will be Christopher Ward.
