Referee Kitchen to take charge of Walsall game

The match officials have been confirmed for this Saturday’s League Two fixture between County and Walsall at Edgeley Park, with referee Andrew Kitchen set to take charge.

Kitchen has taken charge of four County games in recent years, last doing so in our 2-2 draw with Torquay United at Edgeley Park in May 2021. He last refereed a Walsall game in August 2021 – a 1-0 home win for the Saddlers against Stevenage.

He was promoted to the EFL as a referee last Summer and took charge of 29 games during the 2021/22 season, issuing 69 yellow cards and two reds. So far this campaign he has refereed eight games, showing 30 yellows and one red.

He will be assisted on the day by Gary Hilton and Mark Jones, whilst the Fourth Official for this game will be Anthony Backhouse.
