The match officials for Saturday’s League Two fixture between Stockport County and Barrow AFC at Edgeley Park have now been confirmed, with Peter Wright selected to referee the game.
Wright last refereed a game involving County in August 2022, overseeing our 2-1 defeat away at Mansfield Town in League Two. He hasn’t refereed a Barrow game since the 2021/22 campaign, in charge for their 2-1 defeat away at Hartlepool United.
The official took charge of 23 games in all competitions last season, the majority of which came in League One. In that time, Wright issued 71 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded four penalties.
In his four games so far this campaign, he has shown 12 yellows, one red and awarded one spot kick. His last game saw him take charge of Grimsby’s 2-0 win against Salford on Tuesday night, in which a red card was shown to Salford’s Ossama Ashley.
Wright’s assistant referees on the day will be Richard Wigglesworth and Johnathon Bickerdike, whilst Ollie Williams will be the fourth official.
