Referee Declan Bourne is set to take charge of Saturday’s League Two fixture between Colchester United and County at the JobServe Community Stadium.
Bourne has already refereed County once this season, having overseen our 2-1 defeat away at Doncaster Rovers back in August, in which a red card was shown to Macauley Southam-Hales in the first-half. His last game involving Colchester came in February 2022, where he was in charge for their 201 defeat at home to Hartlepool United.
This is Bourne’s third season as an EFL referee, having been promoted from the National League in 2020. In total, he officiated 24 games last season, mostly in League Two, issuing 94 yellow cards, two red cards and awarding ten penalties.
He has refereed 21 games in all competitions so far this season, with the majority coming in League One, showing 77 yellow cards, eight reds and pointing to the penalty spot on five occasions. His last game saw him take charge of Peterborough United v Shrewsbury Town in League One on Tuesday night.
The official will be assisted on the day by Paul Lister-Flynn & Joseph Stokes, whilst Conor Farrell will be the Fourth Official.
