Three Football Education Students Heading Stateside

Second-year students Josh Hall, George Neill and Charlie Houghton are all headed to the USA, as the trio have been offered a Soccer Scholarship at the Mineral Area College in Missouri.

All three will travel just outside of St. Louis in the summer to undertake the scholarship, with the opportunity made possible through the connections available in our Football Education system.

Throughout the academic year, students had regular visits from the likes of FiveZero, who specialise in offering these opportunities to learners. Football Education alumni Zack Stokes earned a Soccer Scholarship with Florida Memorial University in Miami through FiveZero, who have paved the way for our students to gain this experience.

Following in the footsteps of last years graduates, who travelled to California and Florida after finishing their two years, all three will be able to play regular competitive football in a completely new environment, while still undertaking any course of their choice.

We caught up with George and he said: “I’m buzzing, I can’t wait to go. It’ll be a good opportunity for me to express myself in another country and live away for two years. Through the scholarship, I can go and study abroad and play football for Mineral Area College.

“It’s going to be amazing to have all three of us over there. I can’t wait to get over there and for all three of us to share the experience.”
