Climbing for County!

As part of its 2024 fundraising campaign for County Community Trust, local firm Nimans has announced its inaugural charity challenge.

On Thursday 21st March, a group of twenty-five staff will be tackling the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks, a 24-mile hike which takes in the mountains of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. Joining them on the day will be two members of our CCT team, Operations Manager Dave Wardle and Inclusion & Participation Manager Dan Landstrom.

The gruelling trek will start in Horton-in-Ribblesdale at 6am, with the aim of crossing the finishing line twelve hours later. The group will work as team throughout the day and will be assisted by mountain leaders and support vehicles along the route.

A fundraising target of £3,600 has been set by the company. Donations would be most welcome and may be made on a dedicated Just Giving page, which can be accessed via the link below:

Business Development Director Richard Bovingdon said: ‘We’re planning to support the Community Trust in many ways throughout the year, including volunteering opportunities as well as fundraising challenges.

‘Not only will the Three Peaks Challenge be a great team-building exercise, it will also allow us to raise some vital funds for a fantastic cause.’

Added the Trust’s Dave Wardle: ‘Both Dan and I are keen hikers and we’re really looking forward to the challenge. We’re very grateful to the staff at Nimans for choosing us as their charity partner and can’t wait to meet up with them next month.’
