RIP Tommy Anderson

The Club is saddened to hear of the recent passing of former County inside forward Tommy Anderson (SCAN 611), who died in his adopted home of Australia.

A former Scotland Schoolboy international, he played for a number of clubs in the south of England before joining County from Torquay in June 1960. At Edgeley Park he made 68 League and Cup appearances and scored 21 goals. He was transferred to Doncaster Rovers for a fee of £1,500 in November 1961.

Tommy played club football in Australia and was selected for the Australia squad that played Everton in May 1964. He later emigrated, where he became a successful football journalist and broadcaster.

RIP Tommy.
