Thanks for Help the Hatters

Stockport County would like to thank everyone involved with fans’ group Help the Hatters for their extraordinary efforts throughout the summer to prepare Edgeley Park for the new season.

Their team of dedicated volunteers has worked tirelessly throughout the close season to ready Edgeley Park for the new campaign, including substantial work in the dressing rooms.

The Home and Away dressing rooms have been switched over during the summer, and the volunteers have also painted the tunnel and several other areas within the Danny Bergara stand.

The new ‘Home’ dressing room has seen new tiling in the showers, electrical work, plastering and boarding as well as repairs to the floor. The team have also been repainting large areas of the steps and hard standing around Edgeley Park.

Chairman Richard Park said: “Help the Hatters have put in a tremendous amount of work on behalf of the football club and we would like to says a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved for the work they have tirelessly put in during their free time this summer, and throughout every season, to ensure that Edgeley Park is ready for all our fans, staff and players. We never ask them for anything, or assume they will do anything, but they turn up religiously and it’s become a labour of love for many of them. Manager Jim Gannon has also donned his overalls to help them during the summer months, and it has been a real team effort.”

Richard, Jim and a number of directors joined Help the Hatters this week to celebrate their achievements and pay tribute to the volunteers.
