The Academy continued a successful start to 2024 on and off the pitch. Two victories in the EFL Youth Alliance North West Division, on top of two personal development workshops from ‘Safer Driving’ and ‘Ministry of Defence’.
Ashton Mee made excellent progress, as the young midfielder continued to train at Carrington alongside the first team.

An update from Joe Hillary
Academy Scholar Joe Hillary gave an update on the season, the run in, life at Stockport Sports Village so far this season and an insight into how the staff have helped the young defender develop on and off the pitch.
On the Pitch
Oldham Athletic (H)
County started the month at Stockport Sports Village, as they welcomed Oldham Athletic in the EFL Youth Alliance North West Division. Kylan Depeiaza headed County to victory, as he nodded in a close-range effort. Read more about the action here, or watch the highlights below:
Port Vale (A)
Our Academy Scholars travelled to Port Vale towards the end of the month. The young Hatters ran out 1-0 winners, thanks to an audacious lob from striker Lee Williams. Watch the action from the clash below:
Player Progression
Ashton Mee
Continuing to progress up the County ladder, Ashton Mee trained with the first team once again at Carrington. The young midfielder continues to impress both at Carrington and SSV, training with both first-team and scholar squads.
Personal Development
Safer Driving Workshop
The Academy Scholars took part in an interactive workshop at SSV, promoting safe driving. The scholars listened to a presentation before wearing VR goggles to simulate the dangers of driving while distracted.
Ministry of Defence Workshop
Towards the end of the month, three serving marines visited SSV to give our Academy Scholars to offer insight into alternative pathways outside of football.
